The Yamaha BLU CRU Master Camp sees MotoGP and WorldSBK stars inspire the next generation of racers.
The 2025 Yamaha BLU CRU Master Camp wrapped up in Valencia with 10 young riders aged 15-18 enjoying a week of world-class training, mentoring, and fun alongside some of the biggest MotoGP and WorldSBK stars.
Launched in 2016, the Master Camp is now a core part of Yamaha’s BLU CRU program, offering a clear pathway from grassroots racing through to MotoGP and WorldSBK. With the addition of the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 and MotoGP teams in 2025, Yamaha says it now has the most direct route to the top of the sport.
A Global Roster
This year’s camp drew talent from around the world, with riders selected from the FIM R3 BLU CRU World Cup, the Yamalube R3 BLU CRU Latin America Championship, the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Asia-Pacific Championship, and the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship. The 10 participants represented eight countries, including Australia’s Valentino Knezovic.
Coaching From the Best
Mentoring duties were taken on by a stellar line-up: 2021 MotoGP World Champion Fabio Quartararo, teammate Alex Rins, Jack Miller, Miguel Oliveira, six-time WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea, Andrea Locatelli, Remy Gardner, Stefano Manzi, Yuki Okamoto, and 2024 WorldSSP300 World Champion Aldi Satya Mahendra. They were supported by experienced coaches including Julián Simón, Jules Cluzel, Marco Belli and Kike Bañuls.
The program combined serious technical training with fun, mixing flat-track drills on YZ85s, R7 circuit riding, kart races, and even WaveRunner sessions on the Valencia Marina. Alongside skills development, the camp offered workshops, video analysis and rider Q&A sessions to prepare participants for the demands of professional racing.
Building Future Champions
Highlights included R7 track sessions at the Aspar Circuit, go-kart races against Quartararo and Locatelli, and a Superpole shootout to cap off the week. Italy’s Alessandro Di Persio set the fastest time, earning top honours in a closing podium ceremony.
Quartararo and Locatelli later presented each participant with a signed bib as a memento of the camp, which Yamaha described as an unforgettable experience of “growth, inspiration, fun, and memories.”
The BLU CRU Master Camp continues to prove its value as both a showcase of Yamaha’s commitment to developing future talent and as a unique opportunity for young riders to learn directly from their racing heroes.
