The 2026 Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR superbikes have been unveiled, introducing sharper aerodynamics, refined chassis geometry and enhanced rider technology inspired by WorldSBK competition.
The 2026 Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR bodywork has been completely redesigned with large, functional winglets that project outward from the fairing, generating a claimed 25 per cent more downforce and delivering improved front-end feel through corners. The reshaped cowl, compact hybrid projector/reflector headlights and repositioned Ram Air intake give the latest model a fierce new look that ties it visually to the next-generation Ninja family.
Kawasaki says the chassis geometry has been fine-tuned to complement the new aero package, increasing rear-wheel traction and secondary cornering force for riders who like to steer the bike on the throttle. Suspension remains Showa’s top-shelf Balance Free Fork (BFF) and Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC) shock, now paired with lighter-feeling settings and a slightly revised stance.
Superbike Tech, Everyday Function
Power still comes from the 998cc inline four-cylinder engine that has delivered seven WorldSBK titles, with cleaner emissions but no loss of punch. Advanced rider aids include S-KTRC traction control, launch control, cornering ABS, engine brake control, quickshifter, and multiple power modes.
New for 2026 is a 5-inch TFT display offering two customisable layouts, a shift light, and smartphone connectivity via the latest Rideology The App Motorcycle platform, which now includes turn-by-turn navigation and voice command capability.
A mechanical Öhlins steering damper, electronic cruise control and Bridgestone Battlax Racing Street RS12 tyresround out the ZX-10R’s high-spec package.
The RR: Ten for Australia and New Zealand
If the standard ZX-10R isn’t exclusive enough, the ZX-10RR takes performance to another level. Only 500 units will be produced worldwide, and just 10 of those are coming to Australia and New Zealand combined.
The RR swaps in Pankl titanium connecting rods and lightweight pistons, adds a titanium-coated fork, steel-braided Brembo brake lines, and track-tuned rear suspension. It also rolls on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres straight from the WorldSBK playbook.
Both models are due to arrive in mid-2026, with pricing and full Australian specifications to be confirmed closer to launch.
