Australian Road Rider is expecting some interesting new model announcements from Harley-Davidson on January 24 (January 25 Australian time) as the company attempts to grow into new market segments and appeal to wider range of riders.
The Grand American Touring, Cruiser, Trike, Sport and Adventure Touring categories the company already plays in – and the arriving learner approved 350 and 500s – continue, but we’re hoping to see something interesting and different from HD soon.
We’re expecting new Road Glide, Street Glide and possibly other Grand American Touring variants on January 24, because they are big sellers and the only carry-over models in the category are the Ultra Limited and Road King.
The Nightster, Sportster S, Pan America S and trikes look to be unchanged for 2024, but we’re hoping some new models are added – an adventure model using the smaller engine we’ve already seen in the Nightster would make a lot of sense, for a start.
A variant on the Sportster S would be welcome to flesh-out the range, too.
Of course there’s a strong chance we will be kept waiting until the Harley-Davidson Homecoming event in Milwaukee (late July), but that might also be a time for 2024.5 models and previews of what’s coming in 2025.
In the meantime there’s the X350 and X500 models which we’re ridden briefly and are looking forward to testing throughly, the CVO Road Glide (in the photo attached) and Street Glide road test coming soon and lots more to be expected from the world’s most iconic motorcycle maker.
