2026 KAWASAKI KLX300 UNVEILED

2026 Kawasaki KLX300 Dual-Sport priced from $7849 +ORC.

The 2026 Kawasaki KLX300 will land later this year. It is a lightweight dual-sport designed to balance daily usability with genuine trail-riding ability. Priced at $7849 plus on-road costs, the new model combines updated styling with proven performance credentials.

First introduced in 2021, the KLX300 has carved out a niche as an accessible dual-purpose machine. For 2026, Kawasaki continues the formula with a 292cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine delivering a claimed 19kW at 8000rpm and 24Nm at 7000rpm. Power is delivered through a six-speed transmission, while fuel injection ensures smooth throttle response and easy starting across a wide range of conditions.

Kawaski says the KLX300 draws heavily on the comapny’s enduro and motocross DNA. It uses a high-tensile steel perimeter frame paired with long-travel suspension – a 43mm inverted cartridge fork up front and Uni-Trak rear shock with adjustable damping and preload. A 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear, fitted with dual-purpose tyres, underline its off-road intent.

Stopping power comes from a 250mm front petal disc with twin-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with single-piston caliper.

With a 137kg kerb weight and with 275mm of ground clearance, the KLX300 is built for agile handling both on and off the road.

Kawasaki says it has paid close attention to ergonomics, giving the KLX300 a relaxed, upright riding position and a thick urethane seat designed for longer journeys. A slim new shroud design aids rider movement, while a radiator fan cover channels hot air away from the rider for comfort in traffic or technical off-road conditions.

Instrumentation is fully digital, featuring a speedometer, bar-type tachometer, dual trip meters, clock, fuel gauge and warning lights. Lighting is via a compact stacked LED headlamp housed in a sharp cowl, giving the bike a sporty, enduro-inspired look.

The 2026 KLX300 continues Kawasaki’s KX-inspired design, with sharp new bodywork that flows from front to tail. A two-tone seat, slim mirrors, and a dynamic use of black and lime-green plastics reinforce its motocross heritage.

Available in Lime Green, the 2026 Kawasaki KLX300 will be in Kawasaki dealerships across Australia later this year, offering riders a dual-purpose machine equally at home carving through city traffic or tackling a forest track.
