Production begins for Ducati’s fifth-generation Monster.
Production begins of the all-new, fifth-generation Monster at Ducati’s Borgo Panigale factory, marking the return of one of the brand’s most recognisable names. First launched in 1992 under the simple philosophy of “everything you need, nothing more”, the Monster went on to define Ducati’s naked-bike identity and create a global community of Monsteristi. The 2026 model aims to carry that legacy forward with a complete redesign, lighter construction and a strong focus on technology and accessibility.
The new Monster features a V-twin engine with variable timing and impressively low running costs, including a class-leading 45,000km valve-clearance service interval. Ducati says the engine’s IVT (Intake Variable Timing) system delivers smooth low-rpm performance, strong mid-range punch and plenty of top-end power, with 80 per cent of maximum torque available from 4000 to 10,000rpm.
A monocoque frame uses the engine as a stressed member, paired with a double-sided swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4 and a technopolymer/trellis rear subframe. Combined with the light V2 engine, the overall package sheds 4kg compared with the previous model. With a dry weight of 175kg, Ducati says it is the lightest Monster ever among its four-valve variants. Showa suspension has been tuned for both everyday comfort and spirited riding, aiming to preserve the model’s long-standing dual character.
Ergonomics have been updated as well. The standard seat height drops to 815mm and can be lowered to 775mm with an accessory seat and lowering kit. A higher, more forward handlebar improves leverage and long-distance comfort. The electronic package includes four Riding Modes — Sport, Road, Urban and Wet — supported by DTC, DWC, EBC and cornering ABS. All settings are accessed via new handlebar controls and a 5-inch TFT display with day/night modes and compatibility for Ducati’s Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation.
For riders looking to personalise their bike, Ducati Performance will offer a wide range of accessories, including carbon and billet-aluminium finishes, a sport seat trimmed in Alcantara and homologated Termignoni silencers with titanium sleeves and carbon end caps. The latter promise a lighter weight and a more distinctive exhaust note.
The 2026 Monster will be available from February 2026 in Ducati Red and Iceberg White, in two versions: Monster and Monster+, the latter adding a passenger-seat cover and small screen. A 35kW option for LAMS licence holders will also be offered.
The Monster starts at $20,700 ride away and the Monster+ at $21,400 ride away. Hit this link for more details.
