The CFMOTO’s flagship adventure bike – the MY26 1000MT-X – will arrive in May with strong performance, long-range capability and aggressive pricing.
CFMOTO Australia has announced pricing and local arrival timing for its new flagship adventure motorcycle, the MY26 CFMOTO 1000MT-X, with the big-capacity adventure machine set to land in Australian dealerships in late May 2026.
The new model will be offered at $18,990 ride away, positioning it as one of the most competitively priced large-capacity adventure bikes on the Australian market. Alongside the standard model, CFMOTO will also offer a 1000MT-X LS (Low Suspension) variant aimed at riders seeking a lower seat height and slightly reduced suspension travel.
Both models will be available through CFMOTO’s national dealer network, with customers able to secure a bike when the first shipment arrives later in the year.
Unveiled globally at EICMA 2025, the 1000MT-X represents a significant step forward for the brand as it moves into the increasingly competitive litre-class adventure segment. With strong engine performance, premium suspension and an extensive electronics package, the bike is clearly aimed at riders looking for a capable long-distance touring platform that can also handle serious off-road work.
At the heart of the new model sits CFMOTO’s latest 946cc parallel-twin engine, based on the LC8c architecture and tuned specifically for adventure-touring duties. The liquid-cooled DOHC engine produces a claimed 83kW at 8500rpmand 105Nm of torque at 6250rpm, with engineers focusing on strong mid-range performance for real-world riding conditions.
According to CFMOTO, the engine maintains more than 90 per cent of peak torque between 5500rpm and 8000rpm, ensuring strong drive whether accelerating onto highways, climbing steep terrain or carrying luggage on extended touring routes.
Internally the engine incorporates several high-end design elements aimed at durability and performance. These include ceramic-coated cylinder bores, forged pistons and fracture-split connecting rods, components designed to reduce friction and maintain strength under sustained loads. Premium Japanese componentry is also used throughout the engine, including NTN bearings and an FCC clutch assembly.
Despite its performance credentials, the all-alloy engine remains relatively compact and lightweight at 56kg, helping to maintain balanced chassis dynamics and manageable handling in both road and off-road conditions.
The engine has also undergone more than 100,000km of endurance testing, including exposure to harsh environments designed to simulate real-world adventure riding conditions such as dust, heat and corrugated surfaces.
The chassis specification reflects the bike’s serious adventure intent. Suspension is supplied by KYB, with 48mm fully adjustable upside-down forks offering 230mm of travel on the standard model. The LS version reduces travel to 190mm front and rear to lower the overall seat height.
At the rear, a fully adjustable KYB monoshock incorporates a convenient remote preload adjuster, allowing riders to quickly compensate for luggage or passenger weight.
The braking system uses premium Brembo components, including dual 320mm front discs with radial-mount four-piston calipers and a 260mm rear disc. These are supported by a Bosch six-axis IMU, enabling advanced rider aids such as cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control.
Electronics are managed through a Bosch MSE 9.0 ride-by-wire system and include five ride modes – Standard, Rain, Off Road, All Terrain and Master, the latter allowing riders to customise settings to suit conditions. The electronics package also includes wheelie control, three-stage traction control, cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter.
Adventure capability is further enhanced by 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres designed to perform across mixed terrain.
For long-distance touring, the 1000MT-X features a 22.5L fuel tank, which CFMOTO says can deliver more than 500km of riding range under mixed conditions. Comfort and convenience features include heated grips, a heated seat, adjustable windscreen and cruise control, making the bike well suited to extended highway travel.
Technology is centred around a large 8-inch vertical full-colour touchscreen TFT display, providing access to ride data, connectivity features and navigation functions via the CFMOTO RIDE app. Riders also benefit from Type A and Type C charging ports, tyre pressure monitoring, LED lighting and a top-mounted adjustable steering damper.
Protection equipment comes standard, including a skid plate, handguards and chain guard, meaning the bike arrives ready for adventure straight out of the crate.
Australian buyers will be able to choose from two colour options – Tactical Green and Aerolite Grey, while the LS variant will be offered exclusively in Aerolite Grey.
To coincide with the model’s launch, CFMOTO Australia will also offer buyers a choice of two introductory accessory packs designed to suit different riding styles.
The Adventure Pack, valued at $1989, focuses on long-distance touring and includes a tall windscreen, alloy luggage system and top-case backrest. Alternatively, the Rally Pack, valued at $1859, adds off-road protection and equipment including crash bars, an alloy skid plate, rally footpegs and a dual-stage foam air filter.
The introductory accessory offer will be available for purchases made before 30 June 2026.
With strong performance, high-end components and aggressive pricing, the MY26 1000MT-X represents CFMOTO’s most ambitious adventure motorcycle yet – and a serious new contender in the large-capacity ADV category.
