HONDA CB1000F UNVEILED

Honda CB1000F

Honda CB1000F returns with Fireblade DNA.

The 2026 Honda CB1000F has been unveiled – a retro-inspired performance naked that fuses 1980s style with modern tech and Fireblade-derived performance. Based on the acclaimed CB1000 Hornet platform, the CB1000F has been reimagined with a character all its own: a muscular inline four tuned for real-world torque, distinctive styling cues that pay homage to Freddie Spencer’s AMA racebike, and premium electronics to keep the experience firmly rooted in the 21st century.

A New Chapter in the CB Legend

Honda’s CB lineage stretches back more than 65 years, and the new CB1000F continues that story with a deliberate nod to the CB750F and CB900F of the early ’80s. With its clean, flowing lines, round headlight, and twin horns, the CB1000F captures the spirit of that golden age of sportbikes – then layers on modern performance and safety technology.

Developed under the concept of creating the “Best Balanced Roadster”, the CB1000F promises the handling agility of a middleweight with the punch and poise of a litre-class machine. Its 1000cc DOHC inline four is derived from the CBR1000RR Fireblade but tuned for a deep well of low- to mid-range torque. Peak power is rated at 91kW @ 9000rpm, with 103Nm @ 8000rpm, giving it a grunty, tractable delivery perfect for real-world riding.

Revised cam timing and intake design are claimed to lend the CB1000F an off-beat four-cylinder character, while a distinctive 4-2-1 “megaphone” exhaust channels an evocative soundtrack straight out of the ’80s. A reworked gearbox features shorter first and second ratios for snappy acceleration, and longer upper gears for relaxed highway cruising – just 4000rpm at 100km/h in top.

Premium Chassis and Electronics

Handling is underpinned by a 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD fork and a Showa Pro-Link rear shock with bespoke settings, both fully adjustable. Dual radial-mount Nissin calipers grip 310mm floating front discs, managed by cornering ABS via a six-axis IMU.

That same IMU governs the bike’s comprehensive electronics suite, including Throttle By Wire, three riding modes (Standard, Sport, Rain) and two user-defined settings, plus Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and Wheelie Control.

Instrumentation is handled by a five-inch full-colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity for navigation, calls and music, while the Honda Smart Key adds convenience for ignition and fuel access. Full LED lighting, including a circular signature headlight and twin horns, rounds out the modern-retro aesthetic.

Riding Comfort and Build Quality

Comfort has been prioritised with a long subframe for better pillion support and a broad, well-cushioned seat at 795mm. The CB1000F’s ergonomics are upright and relaxed, and its compact 2.8m turning radius aids everyday manoeuvrability. Fuel efficiency sits at a claimed 5.6L/100km, giving a practical 280km range from the 16-litre tank.

Accessories and Packs

Owners can tailor the CB1000F with a range of official Honda accessory packs:

  • Sports Pack – Headlight cowl, oil filler cap, tank side decals, radiator grill, engine guard and quickshifter.

  • Comfort Pack – High windscreen, deflectors, comfort seats and fog lights for touring ease.

  • Travel Pack – 14L/10L soft saddlebags and 3L tank bag for practical long-distance versatility.
