Triumph unveils Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition

Triumph Motorcycles has revealed the Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition – a strictly limited-run model inspired by the original British cafe racers of the 1960s.

Limited to just 800 motorcycles worldwide, each example is supplied with its own Certificate of Authenticity. The new model is based on the Speed Twin 1200 RS and gains a range of cafe racer-inspired styling and ergonomic changes, including clip-on handlebars, the deletion of pillion pegs and a distinctive brown bullet seat with removable cowl.

The Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition will be available in limited numbers through local Triumph dealerships from March 2026, priced from $30,490 rideaway.

Cafe racer styling and exclusive details

The Cafe Racer Edition features a low, tucked riding position created by the clip-on handlebars and streamlined single-seat profile. Machined ’bar-end mirrors reinforce the clean silhouette, while ribbed clutch and alternator cover badges, black head bolt covers and sculpted knee pads add subtle detailing.

Practical touches include pillion footpeg finishers, with the footpegs removed as standard and supplied in the crate for owners who wish to reinstate two-up capability.

Completing the look is an exclusive British racing-inspired colour scheme, combining Competition Green and Aluminium Silver paintwork with Aluminium Silver wheels and a colour-coded Competition Green headlight bowl.

Limited edition appeal

Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer, said the new model builds on the success of the latest Speed Twin range.

“The latest Speed Twin 1200 has already struck a chord with riders across Europe and the US who value performance, style and everyday usability. Building on that success, the Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition will sit at the top of the Speed Twin range, taking inspiration from the British cafe racer scene of the 1960s. With a global production of just 800 motorcycles, the Cafe Racer Edition will appeal to collectors and regular riders alike, offering more distinction and exclusivity, as well as combining heritage influence with premium specification and engaging performance.”

Art in motion

The Competition Green and Aluminium Silver colour scheme blends contemporary styling with classic racing heritage. The fuel tank is finished primarily in Aluminium Silver, with Competition Green panels forming the secondary graphics.

An Empire Gold coachline defines the transition between colours, while the “Cafe Racer Edition” graphic in Empire Gold completes the tank. The two-tone theme continues across the seat cowl and side panels, which feature a Number 12 graphic in Aluminium Silver.

The headlight bowl and fork protectors are finished in Competition Green, while brushed aluminium front and rear mudguards add contrast.

Razor-like responses

The Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition features a focused riding position defined by low clip-on handlebars. Like the Speed Twin 1200 RS, it is equipped with fully adjustable Marzocchi forks and Öhlins rear suspension units.

Braking performance is delivered by twin Brembo Stylema calipers acting on 320mm discs, with Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres fitted as standard.

Thrilling sports performance

Power comes from Triumph’s high-compression Bonneville 1200 twin engine, producing 77kW (104hp) at 7750rpm, with torque peaking at 112Nm. The 270-degree firing order and low-inertia crankshaft are designed to deliver immediate throttle response and characterful power delivery across the rev range, with a rev limit of 8000rpm.

Performance-enhancing technology

Riding modes include Road, Rain and Sport, allowing engine response to be tailored to conditions and rider preference. Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control are fitted as standard.

The Cafe Racer Edition is also equipped with Triumph Shift Assist, along with a combined LCD and TFT display housed within a traditional circular dial. This layout supports turn-by-turn navigation, phone connectivity and includes a USB-C charging socket.

Timeless finish and heritage

The Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition features black powder-coated engine casings, a compact silencer and full LED lighting with a distinctive DRL signature in the round headlight.

Triumph says the model draws inspiration from the British cafe racer movement of the 1960s, centred around transport cafes such as the Ace Cafe in London, with Bonneville parallel-twin engines becoming a natural choice for riders seeking performance and unmistakable British character.
