SUZUKI DR150 LANDS AT $3290 RIDE AWAY

Suzuki DR150

The Suzuki DR150 has just been announced for an April launch in Australia at a budget-friendly $3290 ride away.

Suzuki Australia has expanded its off-road line-up with the arrival of the new Suzuki DR150 – a simple, rugged trailbike aimed at riders who want a capable machine at a seriously affordable price.

Due to arrive in Australian dealerships from April, the DR150 will be offered at a ride-away price of just $3290, making it one of the cheapest new motorcycles available from a major manufacturer in Australia.

The DR150 is pitched as a practical all-rounder for farmers, hobby riders and entry-level motorcyclists looking for a reliable bike for light off-road riding or private property use. Its modest price and simple mechanical layout should also appeal to riders wanting a low-cost runabout that’s easy to maintain.

Power comes from a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine producing approximately 8.7kW (11.8hp) at 8000rpm and 11.6Nm at 6000rpm, paired with a five-speed transmission designed to deliver smooth low-rev performance suited to off-road riding.

Suzuki has kept the design deliberately straightforward, with both electric and kick-start systems fitted to provide added reassurance in remote environments. A high-tensile steel frame keeps the overall wet weight to 139kg, helping make the bike manageable for newer riders.

The DR150’s chassis is built around conventional suspension, with telescopic fork up front and a linkage-type rear shock. Braking is handled by a front disc and rear drum, while semi dual-sport tyres measure 90/90-19 at the front and 110/90-17 at the rear.

Practical touches include a 12.5L fuel tank, 839mm seat height and 244mm ground clearance, giving the bike reasonable range and the ability to tackle unsealed rural terrain.

A digital instrument display is fitted, along with halogen headlight.

The DR150 will be available in Metallic Dazzling Cool Blue and backed by a 12-month unlimited kilometre warranty.

With its sub-$3300 ride-away price, the DR150 looks set to become one of the most accessible ways to get onto a new off-road bike in Australia.
