The single-cylinder Ducati Hypermotard line-up has been expanded with the 698 Mono Nera, priced in Australia at $24,825 ride away.
The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera has been added to the local line-up in Australia priced at $24,825 ride away.
The new Nera completes the Hypermotard 698 Mono line-up, adding a total-black livery, red detailing, Ducati Quick Shift and homologated Termignoni steel silencers.
The black and red colour scheme is designed to give the 698 Mono Nera a more aggressive look, with black bodywork contrasted by Ducati Red wheels and frame. The Termignoni silencers also feature a black finish with red detailing to match the rest of the bike.
At the heart of the Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera is Ducati’s 659cc Superquadro Mono engine, derived from the twin-cylinder engine used in the 1299 Panigale. It features a 116mm bore piston, titanium intake valves, steel exhaust valves and Desmodromic valve timing.
Ducati claims maximum output of 57kW (77.5hp), with the single-cylinder engine capable of revving to 10,250rpm.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono was developed to bring motard-style riding to Ducati’s road range, with a compact and lightweight chassis designed for road and track use. Ducati claims a ready-to-ride weight of 151kg without fuel.
The chassis uses a trellis frame with variable sections and thicknesses, a double-sided swingarm, cast wheels and brake discs with aluminium flanges. Rear suspension is via a progressive linkage and fully adjustable shock absorber.
Electronics include ABS Cornering with settings developed for track-focused sideways riding through Ducati’s Slide-by-brake function. The package also includes Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Ducati Power Launch and Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera can also be personalised with Ducati Performance accessories, including billet-machined components, an aluminium licence-plate holder, racing seats and footpegs.
The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera will be available in Ducati dealerships from June.
