Indian Motorcycle has expanded its heavyweight cruiser lineup with the all-new Chief Vintage, a model that leans heavily into heritage styling while incorporating contemporary technology and rider-focused features.
Priced from $31,995 ride away, the Chief Vintage draws clear inspiration from the original Chief models that helped define American motorcycling more than a century ago. Flowing valanced fenders, wire wheels and a commanding stance give it unmistakable presence, while modern chassis and suspension updates promise a far more refined ride than its predecessors.
Power comes from Indian’s iconic Thunderstroke V-twin, finished with black cylinders and silver-painted heads to echo the manufacturing techniques of the 1940s. The engine delivers a claimed 156Nm of torque, blending classic character with modern refinement and everyday usability.
Despite its retro appearance, the Chief Vintage is well equipped with modern technology. A 4-inch display powered by RIDE COMMAND provides GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and ride information, while RIDE COMMAND+ adds connected ownership features including account sync.

Riders can tailor the bike’s performance via three ride modes – Standard, Tour and Sport – with standard equipment including cruise control, ABS, keyless ignition and full LED lighting. Long-distance comfort is addressed with wide vintage handlebars, generous floorboards and a heritage-inspired solo seat designed for an upright, relaxed riding position.
One of the Chief Vintage’s defining visual elements is the illuminated headdress atop the front fender, a signature Indian Motorcycle design feature since 1947.
With unmistakable heritage styling, modern electronics and torque-rich V-twin performance, the Chief Vintage blends old-school appeal with contemporary convenience.
