CONTINENTAL TYRES JOINS A1 ACCESSORY IMPORTS

A1 Accessory Imports

A1 Accessory Imports takes on Continental motorcycle tyres.

A1 Accessory Imports has been announced as the new Australian distributor for Continental motorcycle tyres, adding the German manufacturer to its portfolio of powersports brands.

Based in Yatala, Queensland, A1 will support the range through its national dealer network. Continental’s motorcycle line-up covers adventure, sports, sport-touring, racing and scooter applications.

For adventure riders, the announcement also brings news of the arrival of the Continental TKC 80². The new tyre targets a 50/50 split between road and off-road use, with a revised casing and wider, offset tread blocks designed to cope with the power and torque of modern adventure bikes.

Continental says its RainGrip technology improves wet-weather grip, while the revised construction is intended to deliver performance both on the tarmac and when the riding gets rough. Those are manufacturer claims for now; we’ll reserve judgement on how the tyre performs in Australian conditions until we’ve had a chance to test it.

Continental traces its origins to Hannover, Germany, in 1871. Its current motorcycle tyre range draws on technologies including BlackChili, MultiGrip, TractionSkin and RainGrip, with different products catering to a broad spread of bikes and riding styles.

Australian riders can explore the range through A1’s House of Powersports website, which includes product information and a motorcycle tyre search tool.
