Suzuki’s parallel twin V-Strom 800DE

Featuring a brand new 776cc parallel twin engine in a new chassis and featuring the longest suspension travel and ground clearance of any V-Strom, the new 800DE is the most important new model for Suzuki in many years.

There’s a dirt-friendly 21-inch front wheel, wide tapered alloy handlebars, advanced traction control including gravel mode and switchable rear ABS, quickshifter and TFT instruments.
The engine features a 270-degree crank to give a similar feel to the 90-degree V-twins in the 650 and 1000cc V-Stroms, and has been developed to suit off road riding with excellent low down torque.

Important Features Include:
• Fully adjustable USD Showa forks and linkage-equipped rear shock with 220mm of wheel travel at both ends.

• 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.

• 20L fuel capacity
• 5-inch colour TFT instruments

Although we’re excited about the new bike and impressed with the price, at 230kg it’s a little heavier than we’d hoped, with some of the competition being closer to 210kg.

The V-STROM 800DE will arrive in Australia in July 2023 in a choice of three liveries: Champion Yellow No. 2, Glass Mat Mechanical Gray, or Glass Sparkle Black. The MSRP is $16,980 ($18,590 Ride Away*). Meanwhile, the existing V-STROM 650XT V-twin will continue to be sold locally, in both full-power and LAMS configurations.
