CFMOTO 500SR VOOM HERE SOON!

The CFMOTO 500SR VOOM will launch in Australia in May 2025 for $10,990 ride away.

CFMOTO has revealed a new four-cylinder sportsbike called the 500SR VOOM that it says combines 1980s and 1990s racebike nostalgia with cutting-edge engineering. The full-power 500SR VOOM is also claimed to bring a new level of style and performance to the middleweight segment, with a new 499cc four that sees it capable of a claimed top speed of 220km/h and a 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds.

500SR VOOM styling highlights include a minimalist fairing, twin round LED headlights and signature dual exhausts that CFMOTO says are inspired by the golden era of sportsbikes, and beneath the skin that newly developed 499cc inline four-cylinder engine is claimed to deliver 58kW of power at 12,500rpm and 49Nm of torque at 10,000rpm. Thanks to a RAM AIR system, peak output is claimed to climb to 61kW (82hp) at high speed.

Key highlights of the 500SR VOOM include:

  • A quickshifter for seamless full-throttle upshifts
  • Slipper clutch for smoother corner entry
  • Adjustable steering damper with 20 settings
  • 41mm adjustable USD fork and multi-link rear suspension
  • 300mm dual front discs with 4-piston calipers
  • Dual-channel ABS and multi-mode traction control
  • Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and radial CST CM-S3N tyres for enhanced grip and safety

A sporty rider triangle is adaptable thanks to multiple seat height options – 785mm (Genuine Accessory ‘Low Seat’), 795mm (standard) and 815mm (Genuine Accessory ‘High Seat’) – and comfortable seat padding balances aggression with all-day usability.

A 5-inch curved TFT display provides ride data, navigation projection and shift reminders, and riders can stay charged on the go with dual USB ports. An optional T-Box module unlocks smartphone connectivity via the CFMOTO Ride App, over-the-air updates (OTA) and ride logging, security tracking and IMU-based ride analysis.

In early 2025, CFMOTO Australia brought the VOOM to the salt flats of Lake Gairdner, South Australia, where it took on the Australian Land Speed Record for the 500cc production class – and won. Piloted by Richard Harding in the 500P-P category, the VOOM achieved a new record of 227.42km/h (141.31mph), obliterating the previous mark of 199.14km/h.

With the launch of the 500SR VOOM – and the upcoming 675SR-R – CFMOTO continues to evolve its Australian SR lineup beyond the LAMS category. CFMOTO says that by blending retro appeal with cutting-edge innovation, the 500SR VOOM stands alone in its class.

The CFMOTO 500SR VOOM will be available in two colour schemes – Nebula White and Zephyr Blue – arriving in Australian dealerships in May 2025 at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $10,990 ride away, but stock will be limited to just 90 units nationwide, so if you’re keen on the VOOM you’d better get in quick and pre-order through one through your local CFMOTO motorcycle dealer.
