HARLEY-DAVIDSON APAC TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR

Sydney-based technician Paul Beebe takes out the Harley-Davidson APAC Technician of the Year.

Harley-Davidson has crowned Australian technician Paul Beebe the 2025 APAC Technician of the Year, with the final round of the international competition held this week at the company’s headquarters in Sydney.

Now in its fourth year, the APAC Technician of the Year program recognises the highest-performing Harley-Davidson technicians across Asia Pacific, rewarding precision, problem-solving ability and professional excellence. This year marks the first time the regional final has been hosted in Australia.

Technicians from AEM, ANZ, China and Japan first competed in national preliminary rounds before the top scorers from each region were flown to Sydney for the live showdown. Across four rounds of testing, participants were assessed on technical knowledge, diagnostic capability, skills retention and practical workshop proficiency.

The third round – a hands-on skills challenge observed closely by Harley-Davidson technical staff – proved decisive, with Beebe, from Harley-Heaven Sydney, judged the standout performer based on accuracy, efficiency and overall expertise.

Harley-Davidson ANZ Managing Director Nigel Keough said hosting the event locally was a privilege. “It was an honour to bring our top APAC technicians together here in Sydney. This competition showcases the expertise and craftsmanship within our dealer network. Congratulations to all finalists, particularly our winner.”

Beebe said the recognition capped years of hard work and ongoing training. “Winning Technician of the Year means a lot to me. I’ve put in a lot of effort, so it’s nice to know I’ve risen to the top.”

Along with a prize pack of Harley-Davidson gear, Beebe now moves on to compete for the International Technician of the Year title, to be announced in December. The global winner will earn a trip to the 2026 Harley-Davidson Homecoming celebration in Milwaukee.
