More 2022 Harleys Announced

Harley-Davidson believes more and more of its customers (and potential customers) are looking for higher performance from their bikes, so it’s announced three new 2022 models which should be here soon, all offering better engine performance and handling than their predecessors.

In addition there’s a raft of new CVO models, with premium paintwork, stereo systems and an incredible quality of finish for those customers looking for a premium product and are willing to pay for it.

A New Sports-Tourer

Harley is pitching the new Low Rider ST at a sports-tourer. It’s an updated, high-performance version of the Low Rider S with a set of small panniers and half fairing.

The idea is you can use it as a day-to-day sporty cruiser and still be comfortable on the occasional longer trip, in part thanks to the luggage capacity of the panniers.

“Our customers truly inspire us and the Low Rider ST was born from seeing the incredible builds at motorcycle shows around the world,” said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Design. “We took the iconic Motor Company design from the Eighties and gave it a new identity with a modern echo. Add the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, a taller suspension and raised saddlebags and the Low Rider ST delivers both a dynamic visual package as well as a dramatic performance punch.”

Both the updated Low Rider S and the new ST version have the 117 cubic inch engine as standard equipment.

Australian Road Rider enjoyed the Low Rider S when it was launched in 2020 and believe the ST will offer lots of Harley-style fun with some weather protection and while carrying some gear – and it should provide a decent rocking ride with the optional audio system powered by Rockford Fosgate.

Tourers

Harley-Davidson won the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers championship in 2021, and some of the parts used were unreleased versions of accessories now available for the new Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST.

Described as Hot Rod Baggers by the Motor Co, they feature the 117 cubic inch powertrain, Brembo brakes, a solo seat and lots more.

If you want even better performance there are kits available to make the engine bigger, air filters for better breathing, pipes for better performance. And Öhlins shocks for better handling.

The STs feature the complete suite of Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring features including ReflexTM linked Brembo brakes with ABS, Boom! GTS infotainment system with colour touch screen and navigation, cruise control and Daymaker LED headlamps.
