HONDA WARRANTY EXTENDED TO SIX YEARS

Honda six-year warranty

Honda warranty extended to six-years in an industry-first, applicable to the brand’s on-road motorcycle range in Australia.

In what is claimed to be an Australian first for eligible on-road models the Honda warranty period has been extended to six years.

The new program effectively triples previous warranty coverage, extending protection from the standard two years to up to six years, with no kilometre limit.

For motorcycles delivered on or after 1 July 2025, Honda’s base factory warranty increases to three years. Riders can then unlock a further three years of extended coverage by completing scheduled servicing through an authorised Honda dealer, bringing total warranty protection to six years.

Importantly, the extended warranty comes at no additional cost and is transferable to subsequent owners, adding value for those who may sell their bike within the warranty period.

The program applies across Honda’s entire on-road range, from entry-level commuter machines such as the CB125F and Navi, through to high-performance models like the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and long-distance tourers including the Gold Wing.

Adventure-focused machines such as the Africa Twin and Transalp are also covered, reinforcing Honda’s intent to back its bikes in demanding real-world conditions, including long-distance touring and off-road riding.

Honda says the move is designed to deliver long-term peace of mind for riders, while also strengthening confidence in the durability and reliability of its motorcycles. The company also highlights that the extended coverage is tied to regular servicing using authorised dealers, Genuine Honda parts and approved lubricants.

Honda Australia General Manager – Powersports and Products, Chris Schultz, said the initiative reflects the brand’s confidence in its engineering.

“This is a major step forward for Australian riders. We are proud to be the first motorcycle manufacturer in Australia to offer up to six years of warranty coverage for eligible on-road models,” Schultz said.

James Greenwood, General Manager – Ownership Experience, added that the program also rewards long-term ownership and servicing loyalty.

“Our customers might spend hours choosing a Honda motorcycle, but they spend years owning it. Our industry-first six-year warranty enables us to provide long-term peace of mind and genuine Honda support,” he said.

The new six-year warranty applies to privately used, eligible on-road motorcycles sold through authorised Honda dealers from 1 July 2025. Full details, including eligible models and terms, are available via Honda’s official motorcycle website.
